Volunteer as a Foster Parent for puppies, kittens, dogs or cats in your home! The animals may be too young for adoption, may be recovering from an illness or minor injury or may need behavioral training. Foster Parents provide necessary care to animals in need by allowing more animals to go into permanent adoptive homes. This position involves learning health and behavioral techniques from our Animal Care Technicians and requires a desire to nurture and train the animals. Foster animals may need to come back to the shelter for occasional medical checks until they are ready for adoption. The commitment for foster placement is normally for 2-7 weeks at a time. As the need varies, you will be contacted as animals become available for fostering. Foster Parents must ensure that all of their own companion animals are current on vaccinations.
